Several Shook Attorneys to Participate in the ABA Motor Vehicle Conference
The American Bar Association 2018 Motor Vehicle Conference features several Shook attorneys on the agenda as moderators and panelists. The multi-day event begins April 4, 2018, in Phoenix, Arizona. The program will feature leading figures from the industry, in-house counsel, and trial and appellate lawyers covering the issues that are on the cutting edge of what is happening in both the industry and the courtroom. Among the faculty are leading trial lawyers from throughout the country, along with senior in-house counsel for global manufacturers. These experienced counsel and experts will address legal and technical issues relevant to motor vehicle litigation, as well as recent developments in class actions, regulatory developments, litigating automotive asbestos cases, trial related topics, issues unique to component part manufacturers and more.
Shook Partner Amir Nassihi is serving as the event’s co-chair. He will be delivering the opening remarks along with his fellow co-chair Derek Whitefield, partner at Dykema law firm. Additionally, Nassihi is on the panel for the presentation, “Blockbuster Developments in Products Related Class Actions” April 6. Shook Partner Holly Smith will moderate the panel.
The event features Shook’s Chair, Madeleine McDonough, as well. McDonough is co-moderating for the “In House Panel: Working Together to Increase Diversity, Develop the Next Generation, and Successfully Further the Relationship,” April 6. This panel will address best practices and helpful tips in maintaining and developing the corporate counsel relationship, and how inside and outside counsel can partner together to increase diversity and develop the next more diverse generation.
