Minority Corporate Counsel Association Honors Shook for Diversity Innovation
The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) has selected Shook as the recipient of its Vashon Award for diversity innovation.
Named after an African American scholar, lawyer and abolitionist, the George B. Vashon Innovator Award recognizes law firms that lead the way in best practices to assist diverse attorneys. The criteria include proven leadership in recruitment, retention, promotion and metrics that gauge diversity success.
Shook has been an active law firm member and partner with the MCCA for many years.
“At Shook, we consider daily how we are intentionally championing all our attorneys to success. It's an honor to be recognized for creating a culture of engaging and advancing our diverse lawyers and cultivating an inclusive culture,” stated Shook’s Director of Strategic Diversity Initiatives Kori S. Carew.
MCCA will honor Shook, along with the in-house finalist, at the Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference, October 2, 2018, in New York City.
