Shook Data Security & Privacy Chair Designated Privacy Law Specialist

The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) designated Shook Data Security & Privacy Chair Al Saikali as a Privacy Law Specialist.

The American Bar Association and the IAPP created the designation to recognize concentrated knowledge in privacy law. Saikali successfully completed a series of examinations focusing on U.S. privacy law, privacy technology or privacy program management and legal ethics.

The Privacy Law Specialist is the latest in a series of designations earned by Saikali. In 2017, the IAPP named him a Fellow of Information Privacy, a distinction earned by only two percent of privacy law practitioners.

Saikali represents companies in class action lawsuits arising from data breaches and other data privacy issues. He speaks and writes frequently in his area of law and maintains the Data Security Law Journal blog.
