Saikali, Tobón Explain Brazil's New Data Privacy Law

In August 2018, Brazil enacted a new data privacy law inspired by the European Union’s GDPR. The law will go into effect in February 2020; understanding the new regulations is the way to minimize the risk of suit or potential sanctions for noncompliance.

Partner Al Saikali, Chair of Shook’s Privacy and Data Security Practice and Camila Tobón, Director of Shook’s International Privacy Task Force, with Marina Lima Silveira de Souza of Veirano Advogados, have created an on-demand webinar, “Navigating Le Gerai de Proteção de Dados Pessoais: Brazil’s New General Data Privacy Law,” that will help you and your organization understand the law’s key elements.
