Paine and Saikali Obtain CIPP/E Privacy and Data Security Certification

Partner Al Saikali and Associate Kate Paine both have obtained the credential of Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E). The CIPP is accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is widely considered “the global standard in privacy and data security certification.”

The CIPP/E is the leading credential for international data protection professionals reinforcing knowledge of and experience with a comprehensive approach to the protection of personal data and transborder data flows. 

Saikali is Chair of Shook’s Data Security and Privacy Practice Group, of which Paine is a member. Among other issues, they handle data breach investigation and response, advise clients on compliance, help companies develop and implement privacy policies, and provide defense in privacy-related litigation. They recently authored "Subject Access Requests and Identity Verification: Navigating a Data Controller's Catch-22" for Financier Worldwide, offering practical advice for companies responding to subject access requests under the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
