Mims Joins Panel on Diverse Legal Perspectives at Retail Law Conference
Partner Buffy Mims will be a panelist for “The Business Imperative for Diverse Legal Perspectives” at the Retail Law Conference 2019, in Nashville, Tennessee, October 16, 2019. She and the panel will discuss building diversity and inclusion efforts that are good for both retail and legal businesses, and how leading retail corporate counsel are important catalysts for change in their departments, their companies and their law firm partners.
Brian Dodge, chief operating officer of the Retail Industry Leaders Association, will moderate the panel; the other scheduled panelists are Caroline Wanga, chief diversity and inclusion officer and vice president of human resources for Target; James Hanlon, general counsel for IKEA; and Leila Hock, senior manager of legal department partnerships and inclusion initiatives for Diversity Lab.
Mims is Co-Chair of Shook’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She is an accomplished trial attorney who handles cases in a wide range of practice areas, including product liability, toxic torts, environmental and natural resource damages, federal claims, project development litigation and internal investigations.
