Shook Recognized Among Leading Firms as Diversity Champion

Law360 released its 2020 Diversity Snapshot which examines the current state of minority representation in the legal industry, which is often underrepresented.

Shook ranked in the Top 30 for the number of minority attorneys and seventh in minority partner promotions among law firms with 251-600 lawyers. The firm scored 16th overall for its minority equity partners in that same grouping.

Among other measures, the survey explored the percentage of attorneys of color at firms and the numbers of diverse attorneys on the various firms’ executive or management committees.

Shook recently launched the Jon Gray Lawyers Leadership Academy to mentor Shook diverse attorneys with the goal of developing lawyers to become rainmakers serving key clients. Shook just completed its third Shook Scholars Institute which is an innovative diversity-and-inclusion-focused development program concentrated on litigation and trial skills, leadership and career success competencies for the underrepresented attorney.

This summer, Missouri Lawyers Weekly recognized Shook for its commitment to diversity. We strive to inspire other law firms and businesses.
