Shook Lawyers to Participate in Virtual Pro Bono Training for MCRC
The Missouri Coalition for Right to Counsel (MCRC) is hosting an upcoming virtual training for volunteers on Thursday, November 5th. This hybrid of free, live and on-demand webinar trainings offers lawyers continuing legal education credits (CLE) and the opportunity to gain “first chair” trial experience upon completion. Since its inception in 2017, almost 400 lawyers across Missouri have taken the MCRC training to have taken on 225 pro bono cases before a jury.
Attorneys who work on MCRC cases have the unique opportunity to try a variety of cases before a jury. Shook has set an example by hosting prior CLEs, handling more cases than other firms in Missouri and Partner Charles Eblen is active as a MCRC board member. Currently, Shook attorneys have accepted 73 MCRC cases, conducted three trials, taken over 30 depositions, trained more than 100 attorneys, and have made hundreds of court appearances.
You can register for this free, half-day, live event the afternoon of Thursday, November 5th by contacting Richard Scherrer.
