The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) has selected Shook Partner Bill Martucci as president for its 2022-2023 term. Martucci leads Shook’s national Employment Litigation and Policy Practice and has advised some of the world’s largest brands on employment matters.

“It’s truly an honor to be selected for this role and I approach it with great reverence,” said Martucci. “Our focus will be on a variety of important issues including stressing the need for a well-balanced professional and personal life, an innovative initiative advancing diversity and inclusion, and the importance of civility in our profession, particularly in these challenging times.”

Shook, a premier law firm, has a storied history of KCMBA leadership including such luminaries as David Hardy, John Dods, and Pat McLarney, who all led the bar organization.

“I’m really excited to help carry on the legacy of the firm in this important role for both the legal and business communities,” said Martucci who divides his time between New York, Washington, D.C. and Kansas City.

Martucci focuses on business and employment litigation, concentrating on complex class action litigation, as well as executive disputes, whistleblower matters and unfair competition. He earned his LL.M. with distinction from Georgetown University Law School. He routinely shares his knowledge of wage and hour issues in his monthly podcast, “A Window Into Wage + Hour.” He recently concluded a month long successful wage + hour class action jury trial in Los Angeles.
