The American Lawyer Reports on Shook’s New Northeast Office

The American Lawyer reported on Shook’s opening of the firm’s 18th location in “Shook Hardy to 'Connect the Dots' With New Hartford Office.” Interviewing Managing Partner Robert R. Simpson, a seasoned litigator who joins Shook with a focus on high-stakes cases in the pharmaceutical, medical device, automotive and consumer product industries, the publication states that the addition of the Hartford office serves as a notable complement to Shook’s other recent expansions in the northeast region.

Simpson—who has acted as lead counsel, national counsel and local counsel for many global manufacturers—has worked closely with Shook lawyers as part of trial teams in the recent past, and stated his confidence in the firm and the potential of the new location he will be managing.

“I have a stable of clients here in Connecticut that would benefit from the national trial platform that Shook provides,” Simpson said. “And when you look at Shook’s natural growth over the last two years . . . this helps connect the dots, so to speak.”

Shook has opened five other offices in the last three years, including New York and Boston.
