Shook's LatinX ERG Says Society Must Do Better

The members of Shook’s LatinX ERG are devastated for the families of the 19 children and two teachers who were senselessly murdered in Uvalde, Texas.  Our hearts ache for the families and local community members whose lives are forever changed by this horrific tragedy, which hits home for many of the LatinX ERG members as Uvalde is a mostly Latino community and all of the victims involved were Latino. 

While our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected, thoughts and prayers are simply not enough. 

It is clear that we must strive to do better – for our children and for our future. We, the members of Shook’s LatinX ERG, join the millions of people who seek to find common ground to achieve justice and safety. We call on people of goodwill to come together and to foster a society where children can thrive and reach their full potential. 

We must do better.
