Shook Team Assists Ukrainian Families With Legal Needs

Shook Partner Veronica Hayes Gromada is helping a law school classmate with a project to assist Ukrainian families settle in Florida. Hayes, a product liability defense leader and strategist, is using her legal skills to help Ukrainian families seek temporary protective status for 18 months.

It's the type of grassroots efforts that may, despite what may be going on politically, it's the type of undercurrent in the DNA of this country that goes on every day, she explained to a Florida television station.

Gromada got involved through her law school classmate, herself an immigrant from Ukraine who lives in Florida.

“More needs to be done and whatever we can do as a greater society,” she told First Coast News.

Shook lawyers Kathleen Frazier and Jesús Torres are also part of the team helping immigrants with documentation.
