Law360 Ranks Shook Among Best Law Firms for Women

The Law360 Pulse Women in Law Report has ranked Shook among the best places to work for women lawyers. Led by Shook Chair Madeleine McDonough, the firm scored in the Top 12 for having 27.9 % female equity partners. According to Law360, the industry average for women equity partners is 25%. At Shook, more than half of the firm’s associates are women. Shook was evaluated alongside firms of a similar size, 250 to 600 lawyers.

Law360 recognizes Shook’s mission of developing and retaining women attorneys and leaders. Women lead a number of Shook's key practices including the firm’s world renowned Product Liability Litigation Practice managed by Partners Katie Gates Calderon and Hildy Sastre, along with Bill Geraghty. Women lawyers also oversee the Chicago, Orange County, Philadelphia and Tampa locations.

Shook was recently named for the 13th consecutive year in the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) as a Gold Standard Firm. The Gold Standard requires large firms to have 25% of equity partners or 40% of attorneys becoming equity partners identify as women. The firm also earned Mansfield Rule Certification in 2022 which requires law firms to consider at least 30% historically underrepresented lawyers when promoting or appointing leadership roles.
