Law.com Names Sheldon Poole a New Leader in Law
Congratulations to Sheldon Poole recognized by Law.com as a New Leader in Law in the New England Legal Awards. Poole is a member of Shook’s world renowned Product Liability Litigation Practice and also handles environmental toxic tort litigation in multi-district litigation. In these roles, he represents some of the firm’s largest globally known clients in consumer goods, pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing industries.
Poole serves as president of the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity, a networking group that strives to make the respective bars of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts look more like the communities in those areas through promotion and advancement of attorneys, law students, and college students interested in the law. He is also overseeing a new Statewide Diversity Summit for four Connecticut Law Schools designed to help law students and Bar organizations build their networks and affiliations. He is active in the Connecticut Defense Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the New Haven Bar Association and the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association where he is an executive board member.
Poole has earned a number of awards including being named a Connecticut Super Lawyer, DRI’s Young Rookie Lawyer of the Year, the National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, and for his pro bono work, the Loving Civil Rights Award, from the Connecticut Fair Housing Center, an honor he earned for helping a woman facing housing discrimination.
Poole and other honorees, will be recognized at an event in Boston, September 26.
