Shook Associate Named Among June Archer Foundation’s 100 Men of Color
Shook Associate Sheldon Poole will be honored as part of The June Archer Foundation’s 12th Annual 100 Men of Color Black Tie Gala and Awards: Hartford. The award recognizes the contributions of men of color in business, education, entrepreneurship, government, and public service and the impact they have made on the communities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.
Practicing out of Shook’s Hartford office, Poole primarily defends corporate clients in product liability and environmental toxic tort litigation. He is a member of numerous bar associations including the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association, where he served as an executive board member.
Poole serves as president of the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity, a networking group that strives to make the respective bars of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts look more like the communities in those areas through promotion and advancement of attorneys, law students and college students interested in the law. A recipient of numerous accolades, Poole was named a New Leader in Law at the New England Legal Awards in 2024 and was DRI’s 2023 Young Rookie Lawyer of the Year.
“I am humbled by the June Archer Foundation’s selection of me as one of the 100 Men of Color, to be honored for their dedication to their craft and community,” said Poole. “The selection serves as proof of concept; we all bring something different to the table. Show them who you are.”
Poole and other honorees will be recognized at June Archer Foundation’s annual awards ceremony in Hartford on September 12.
