Shook Partner Moderates Panel of General Counsels at ACC Chicago Summit
On September 17, Shook Partner John Lewis Jr. will moderate a panel of four general counsels from Fortune 500 companies and other leading-edge organizations at the 2025 ACC Chicago Summit to be held at the Union League Club of Chicago. “Best Practices of General Counsel” will explore the evolving role of the general counsel as both a trusted legal advisor and a key member of the executive leadership team. The panel will share their knowledge on best practices in corporate governance, serving as a business advisor to a client, CEO and board management, crisis management and how to become a general counsel. Emphasis will be placed on aligning legal strategy with business objectives, fostering a culture of ethical conduct, and building strong partnerships with executive leadership, the board of directors, and operational teams.
Before joining Shook, Lewis held significant leadership roles for more than a decade with The Coca-Cola Company at its global headquarters. He is a member of Shook’s Firm Management Counsel, and the practice group leader of the Bankruptcy, Creditor’s Rights and Receiverships Practice Group.
