MLM Honors Shook Partner with Diversity Award

Shook Partner Maria Salcedo has been awarded the Diversity & Inclusion Award by Missouri Lawyers Media. The award recognizes attorneys who are significantly advancing diversity, inclusion and the dignity of all people in Missouri’s legal profession and in communities in which exceptional legal work impacts justice for all.

Salcedo is a member of Shook’s Product Liability Litigation practice group, where she has a particular proficiency in legal writing and analysis. She represents companies in a variety of industries and has served on dozens of trial teams that have consistently achieved positive results for clients.

Outside of her law practice, Salcedo has received numerous accolades for her community involvement. In 2020, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) selected her as an MCCA Rising Star, one of only 20 attorneys nationwide to receive the award that year. That same year, the Kansas City mayor appointed Salcedo to serve on the board of directors of Visit KC, a non-profit organization whose mission is to generate economic impact through tourism by promoting Kansas City.

Salcedo, among other honorees, will be recognized by Missouri Lawyers Media at an awards ceremony on August 14.
