Shook Chair Madeleine McDonough Honored by William Jewell College
Shook Chair Madeleine McDonough was honored by William Jewell College with the William F. Yates Medallion for Distinguished Service. The medallion, which is the highest non-degree award the college bestows, honors exceptional Kansas Citians for their invaluable professional contributions, civic engagement and community service.
McDonough is an active member of the Kansas City community, having served in a variety of board and leadership roles, including as the immediate past chair of the Greater Kansas City Civic Counsel and a current member of its Executive Committee, the Truman Library Institute and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
McDonough was elected as chair of Shook in 2017 and re-elected for another five-year term on January 1, 2022. Under her leadership, the firm has strategically expanded its national platform to 18 offices and has increased Shook’s total pro bono hours by more than 30 percent.
McDonough was recognized among other honorees at William Jewell College’s Opening Convocation ceremony on September 5.
