Kansas Bar Association Selects Shook Partner for Leadership Institute

The Kansas Bar Association (KBA) selected Shook Partner Daniel Cummings as a member of the KBA Leadership Institute Class of 2026. The KBA Leadership Institute is a four-month program designed to develop the next generation of legal leaders in the state of Kansas. Participants will gain leadership skills, build networking relationships and access opportunities within the legal profession.

Cummings is a member of Shook’s Class Action and Appellate practice group. He defends clients in a variety of industries, including automotive, consumer products, pharmaceuticals and technology. He is experienced in representing clients at every stage of litigation and arbitration disputes.

Cummings is actively involved in Shook’s pro bono practice. He has led an appeal to the Board of Immigration Appeals that obtained a reversal and discretionary relief from deportation for a non-citizen permanent resident who was an honorably discharged U.S. military veteran with PTSD.

Cummings will begin his tenure with the KBA Leadership Institute at a welcome reception in February.
