Shook Jobs for JAGs Program Showcased in RecruitMilitary Magazine

RecruitMilitary’s Search & Employ Magazine highlighted Shook’s Jobs for JAGs program in the magazine’s July issue

Jobs for JAGs is a transition program created through a collaboration with the Judge Advocates Association and Shook. It brings together military attorneys preparing to leave active duty with employers, mentors and peers through resume workshops and networking to help them navigate what comes next.

“I was asked to participate on a panel and expected to meet a group already deep into the military transition process, but that’s not what I experienced,” wrote RecruitMilitary CEO Tim Best. “What I found instead was a room full of thoughtful leaders exploring their options, asking meaningful questions and taking the time to better understand the opportunities ahead.”

Best included how intentional the group was in approaching the transition from the military to the work force and how it is not a “recruiting event” but rather a transition event.

“Jobs for JAGs creates the environment for that process to happen in a more structured and informed way. You could see that play out throughout the event. I walked away impressed by how broad-minded many attendees were about what ‘next’ could look like,” wrote Best. “The willingness to explore, ask questions and seek perspective is exactly what makes the event work.”
