Ingram’s Names Shook Partners Among Top 250 Most Powerful Leaders in Kansas City

Shook Chair Madeleine McDonough and Partner Rob Adams have been selected for inclusion in the 2026 class of Ingram’s 250. Each year, Ingram’s recognizes the most influential and powerful executives and leaders throughout the greater Kansas City region. This recognition marks the 11th consecutive year that both McDonough and Adams have been included in the Ingram’s 250 list.

McDonough was elected chair of Shook in 2017 and was re-elected for another five-year term in 2022. Under her leadership, the firm has expanded its national platform to 18 offices, which has allowed Shook to excel as a leader in trial and complex litigation while growing to nearly 600 lawyers. In her practice, McDonough advises organizations on preventative litigation approaches, policy and governance issues, emerging legal developments, risk management, corporate responsibility and crisis management. 

Adams co-chairs Shook’s General Liability Litigation Practice Group and has first-chaired more than 30 jury trials in several different federal and state courts. He was named Dean of the Trial Bar by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and serves as chair for the Missouri Approved Instruction Committee, a position appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court. Adams is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.
