Zach is an associate in the firm’s Product Liability practice group, representing clients in complex litigation matters, with a focus on defending manufacturers and chemical companies in high-stakes PFAS-related lawsuits.

Zach has experience across all stages of litigation, from initial case assessment through trial preparation. A skilled writer, Zach has drafted countless motions for use in state and federal courts, including motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss, class certification briefing—including motions opposing class certification and motions to decertify, and motions to exclude expert testimony. His experience includes both individual and class action cases, as well as multidistrict litigation. He has also taken and defended depositions and managed large-scale discovery efforts.

Zach’s recent work includes representing clients in nationwide PFAS litigation, involving claims of environmental contamination and product-related liability. He regularly works with scientific and regulatory experts and is well-versed in the evolving legal and technical landscape surrounding emerging contaminants.

A lifelong Kansan, Zach received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law and his B.S. from Kansas State University. Before joining Shook, Zach worked at another large law firm in the Kansas City area.
