Courtney defends clients in complex product liability actions, with an emphasis on social media litigation involving personal injury and school district claims. Drawing on her federal district court clerkship, Courtney offers clients insight into motion practice, case management and effective advocacy in complex civil litigation.

Courtney represents clients in high-stakes product liability matters, including coordinated proceedings and multidistrict litigation involving novel theories of liability. She has been a key member of case work-up and bellwether trial teams in social media product liability litigation and has also contributed to litigation involving pharmaceuticals, consumer products and mass tort claims. With a strong foundation in legal research and writing, Courtney drafts dispositive motions, motions in limine, discovery motions and other briefing, while also developing case strategy through complex discovery, deposition preparation and client-facing analyses. She takes depositions, coordinates with e-discovery vendors and develops summaries that translate large factual records into clear, strategic guidance.

Courtney maintains an active commitment to pro bono work, including assisting a client with a U-Visa application. Before joining the firm, Courtney clerked for the Honorable Evelyn Padin of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, where she assisted with civil matters involving class actions, product liability, securities fraud and civil rights claims. She received her J.D. cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where she was a senior executive editor for the Washington University Law Review and received the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Graduate Award. As a student attorney in the law school’s Appellate Clinic, Courtney represented a pro bono client before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
