Stephen focuses his practice on pretrial work in complex litigation.

Stephen earned his J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law, where he was a general managing editor for the Saint Louis University Law Journal. While in law school, he gained real-world experience through two legal internships and an externship. He served as a legal intern in the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office in St. Louis, where he drafted legal memos and conducted legal research for supervising attorneys. As a legal intern to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, Stephen conducted research and drafted legal memoranda for the Office’s criminal and civil divisions at the district and appellate level. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable John Ross of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Missouri, preparing judicial opinions on a variety of pretrial motions.

Before starting his legal career, Stephen earned his undergraduate degree in biotechnology from Indiana University and served as a Missouri public health coordinator in the St. Louis County Department of Public Health during the Pandemic, working on COVID-19 health objectives and public safety measures.
