Andrew is a business litigation attorney who appreciates that clients seek efficient and effective counsel so they can focus on their businesses’ mission and growth. He has experience in closely held shareholder disputes, insurance coverage, contractual defense and indemnity and data privacy class actions. Andrew digs in for clients. He enjoys distilling complex concepts and troves of information into compelling, digestible arguments for decision-makers, whether courts, insurers or other businesses. Andrew has drafted pleadings, discovery motions, dispositive motions and appellate briefs in both state and federal courts; he also regularly takes and defends depositions, has conducted internal investigation interviews, has argued motions in court and has presented a witness at trial.

Representative Matters

  • Andrew currently represents a shareholder in a substantial closely held business dispute involving derivative, fiduciary duty and director liability claims. 
  • He also represents a major retailer in biometric privacy litigation involving complex technical issues and emerging issues of law.  
  • In a putative data privacy class action in federal court, Andrew drafted a Motion to Dismiss or Compel Arbitration that resulted in plaintiffs voluntarily dismissing their complaint. 
  • Andrew helped a major insurer perform coverage analysis related to excess policies in a significant coverage tower. 
  • Convinced the Department of Veterans Affairs to favorably remand a Navy Veteran’s appeal of an adverse benefits decision. 

Within the firm, Andrew is a member of the firm-wide Professional Development Committee and the LGBT+ Employee Resource Group. 

Andrew earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University, a master’s degree from Yale University, and his J.D. from the Notre Dame Law School. During law school, Andrew served as an executive editor for the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics and Public Policy. He also externed for U.S. Magistrate Judge John A. Kazen of the Southern District of Texas.
