Mehgan is a business litigation attorney with experience in class actions, data privacy, antitrust, insurance coverage and contract disputes. Mehgan takes a measured approach to all aspects of litigation. From arguing in court to taking or defending depositions, her advocacy style is precise, focused, and effective. With this approach, she navigates complex legal issues in real time by focusing on the law and avoiding the distraction of unproductive debates.

Before joining Shook, Mehgan clerked for two years in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, where she became a detail-oriented and effective communicator, a strong legal writer, and knowledgeable about the federal appellate system. She uses those skills regularly at Shook in drafting dispositive motions on complex legal issues, a significant number of which have resulted in dismissal.

Mehgan also manages a variety of pro bono matters, including asylum applications, veterans’ disability benefits appeals, prisoners’ civil rights cases and research for an organization providing legal services to domestic violence victims.

Within the Chicago office, Mehgan is involved in the mentoring program, and she co-leads the summer associate program and Junior Women’s Management Council meetings.
