Martha M. Kong is an associate in Shook’s Class Action & Appellate Litigation group in Orange County. She focuses her practice on complex litigation, with experience handling matters involving warranty claims, product liability, personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability and related disputes. Her practice spans all phases of litigation, including early case assessment, discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration and trial.
Martha has significant courtroom experience in automotive and personal injury trials that have resulted in defense verdicts. She has worked across every phase of litigation from pre-litigation through trial and post-trial proceedings.
In addition to her trial work, Martha manages a substantial litigation docket and advises clients through every stage. She has extensive experience conducting and defending fact and expert depositions, managing written discovery from inception through completion and preparing detailed case evaluations addressing liability, exposure and strategy. She also represents clients in mediation and arbitration and works to secure favorable resolutions in complex matters.
