Darin’s practice has focused on the representation of commercial entities in actions involving breach of contract, various business-related torts and government investigations. Darin also has several years of experience representing clients in actions involving claims for personal injury, wrongful death and significant property damage in state and federal courts throughout the United States, including pharmaceutical, fire suppression equipment, and alarm manufacturers. In this capacity, he has managed a range of litigation issues, including all facets of discovery, mediation, arbitration and settlement negotiations, and has successfully worked with expert witnesses on a broad range of medical, engineering and other scientific issues. Darin has experience securing dismissals through pretrial dispositive motion practice, and in obtaining favorable results for clients facing grand jury subpoenas and other government investigative demands. In this work, he has accomplished the following:
- Obtained a favorable outcome for a financial services company in responding to a grand jury subpoena in a New York Attorney General investigation involving non-compete agreements;
- Secured the enforcement of contractual provisions on behalf of financial institutions facing consumer protection claims;
- Negotiated and successfully limited dozens of grand jury subpoenas, DOJ, IRS and FBI investigative demands on behalf of financial institutions, automobile companies and management firms;
- Negotiated and limited hundreds of civil subpoenas on behalf of financial services companies; and
- Assisted clients with financial recoveries and related business-to-business disputes.
