Andre is a litigator who represents clients in their most complex, highest stakes cases and trials. He focuses his practice on product liability, environmental, mass tort, and toxic tort matters in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Andre offers the type of counsel that can come only from successfully litigating different cases, for different clients, and across different industries from inception through trial.
Andre has significant experience in all key phases of litigation, including responsive pleading practice, written discovery, ESI discovery, fact and expert discovery, deposition practice, mediation, expert and dispositive motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and trial.
Complex Briefing and Legal Strategy
Andre has successfully briefed and/or argued hundreds of motions involving complex and novel legal issues. His briefing and oral argument skills have directly led to favorable results for several clients, including:
• Dismissal of entire cases;
• Dismissal of punitive damages, consumer fraud, fraud, and product liability claims via motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment;
• Protective orders limiting discovery of company witnesses;
• Complete exclusion of conduct and scientific expert witnesses from trials.
Trial Experience
Andre has been a member of 14 trial teams in his time at Shook. Ten of those trials resulted in complete defense verdicts or otherwise favorable verdicts for his clients. Because of this, Andre has significant experience developing case themes and overall trial strategy; drafting opening statements, cross-examination, and closing arguments; drafting motions for directed verdict; and preserving issues for appellate review.
