Jason represents clients in complex litigation matters in federal and state courts across the country, including large-scale class actions, sprawling multidistrict litigations (MDLs) and high-stakes commercial disputes. Jason has substantial experience defending some of the world’s largest public and private companies against antitrust, unfair competition and mass tort claims brought by sophisticated plaintiffs with claimed potential treble and joint-and-several damages in the billions of dollars. 

Jason has represented clients in matters involving alleged price-fixing, output restriction, market allocation and bid-rigging conspiracies; monopolization and attempted monopolization; tortious interference; breach of contract; and mass torts focusing on failures-to-monitor.

Jason also has substantial experience representing clients in government investigations, regulatory inquiries, civil investigative demands, advocacy campaigns and enforcement actions. Jason has represented clients before the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and state attorneys general. He previously served as a summer legal intern at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, Health Care Division.

Jason’s experience spans a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, health care, technology hardware, data center services, agriculture, digital platforms, software, trade associations and video games. 

Jason uses his background in economics and finance to develop data-driven strategies for clients to give them the edge, in particular to best understand potential exposure from litigation and recommended strategies for resolution. Jason’s data-driven approach has helped clients achieve extremely favorable settlements to resolve claims brought by well-resourced plaintiffs in some of the largest MDLs.

Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer against class and direct action suits in multidistrict litigation alleging an industry-wide conspiracy to raise prices and allocate the markets of generic drugs.

Represented a poultry producer in the trial track of a consolidated case alleging an industry-wide output-reduction conspiracy.

Represented a AAA video game developer and publisher as a third-party subpoena recipient in the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s action challenging Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard acquisition.

Government Antitrust Investigations

Represented a major technology company in a U.S. Department of Justice investigation and related state attorney general inquiries related to potential monopolization. 

Represented a health care software company before the U.S. Department of Justice in an investigation related to a competitor’s acquisition.

Represented a data center services company in its sale to a private equity firm and related investigation by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. 

Complex Commercial Litigation

Successfully obtained dismissal, with prejudice, for a trade association in a case alleging a conspiracy to discriminate against farmers.

Represented a poultry producer against antitrust, business tort and breach of contract claims in a case alleging the unlawful sale of a processing complex.

Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer in multidistrict litigation alleging failure to monitor the ordering and distribution of controlled products.
