Shook Obtains Arbitration Win and Attorney's Fees for Trading Firm

Representing a trading firm in a two-day hearing before the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group's Arbitration Committee, Shook attorneys defeated claims brought by a former member of the trading firm. The former member asserted that he was owed damages related to a seat held on the CME. Less than one day after closing arguments, the CME panel entered an award—including attorneys’ fees and costs—in favor of Shook's client on every count.

The trading firm hired Shook to handle the arbitration following success representing the company in the Circuit Court of Cook County. The same former member had claimed rights in the firm's trading technology. The court entered judgment on the pleadings in favor of our client on all claims filed against it.
