Behrens Delivers Keynote Address at Tort Reform Symposium
Shook, Hardy & Bacon Washington D.C. Partner Mark Behrens gave the keynote address at “Ten Years Later: The Effects of Tort Reform in Mississippi,”a symposium held by the Mississippi College School of Law on March 20.
Behrens first took notice of Mississippi’s legal reform 10 years ago. After the passage of significant tort reform legislation in Mississippi, Partner Cary Silverman and Behrens wrote an article that chronicled Mississippi’s transformation to a state that became more competitive and attractive to employers.
In Behrens’ keynote address, titled “Building on the Foundation: Mississippi Tort Reform Success and a Path Forward,” he focused on the successes and the future of tort reform in the state. Behrens and Silverman are currently co-authoring a scholarly article on the same topic for The Mississippi College Law Review.
