Shook, Hardy & Bacon Partners Madeleine McDonough and Samuel Sebree present at the Chicago Bar Association’s CLE in Switzerland conference on March 28-31 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The program is co-sponsored by Shook, Hardy & Bacon, the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession, and several other organizations. The content of this year’s conference focuses on diversity, equality and inclusion.
A member of Shook’s Executive Committee and Diversity and Inclusion Committee, McDonough also serves as the chair of the firm’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Device practice and co-chair of the Agribusiness and Food Safety practice and the Life Sciences and Biotechnology practice. She serves clients from Shook’s Washington, D.C., office and the firm’s Kansas City headquarters. Sebree is a member of Shook’s Associates Committee; he serves clients from the firm’s London office and formerly practiced from Shook’s Geneva office.
McDonough and her fellow panelists discuss “Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Today’s Global Law Firm,” identifying issues facing global law firms today, how challenges differ across the globe, and how to address those challenges.
In “Comparative Introduction to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Issues in the Legal Profession in Europe” program, Sebree presents on issues specific to Switzerland. His fellow presenters address pipeline challenges, U.K. compared to U.S.; diversity as an ethical obligation; women’s opportunities in the Germany and the U.S.; and LGBT lawyers in Europe.
