Shook Attorneys to Lead Panels at Legaltech 2019

Three Shook attorneys—Patrick Oot, Denise Talbert and Adam Shoshtari—will moderate panels at Legaltech in New York City, January 29-31, 2019. 

Oot, Partner and Co-Chair of Shook’s Data and Discovery Strategies practice, will moderate the “Legaltech Keynote: Judges Panel.” Speakers will include the Hon. Andrew J. Peck, now senior counsel for DLA Piper; the Hon. Joy Conti, Chief District Judge for the U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania; the Hon. Elizabeth Laporte, Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of California; and the Hon. Kimberly Priest Johnson, Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Texas. 

Talbert, Partner and Co-Chair of Data and Discovery Strategies, will lead a panel to discuss “Data Management in an Investigation: Staying Ahead of the Curve from Forensics to Production.” The scheduled panelists include Tess Blair of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP; Francine French of GlaxoSmithKline; and Daniel Lee of Experian. They are expected to discuss best practices in data management, including document retention, records management, litigation hold policies, legal preservation and data privacy issues.

Staff Attorney Shoshtari will moderate a discussion of data collection, privilege, privacy and compliance issues related to GDPR in “Cross-Border Investigations: Protecting the Privilege and Meeting Privacy Expectations.” He is scheduled to be joined by Linda Johnson of GlaxoSmithKline; Jack Thompson of Sanofi US; and Michael Russell of Ingersoll Rand.
