KCMBA Names Partner Gregory Wu Distinguished Counselor for 2019
The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) has honored Shook Partner Gregory K. Wu with the 2019 Distinguished Counselor Award. The award “recognizes a KCMBA member who consistently demonstrates the characteristics of professionalism, collegiality, courtesy, equanimity, character, harmony and friendship.”
Wu serves the firm’s health, science and technology clients with a focus on tort and product liability defense, with an emphasis on class action and complex personal injury litigation.
Quinton Lucas, former Shook, Hardy & Bacon summer associate who serves on the Kansas City City Council and is a 2019 mayoral candidate, said in KC Counselor, “Greg is one of the finest lawyers in the region . . . Despite the pressures that can come from defending high-value litigation, Greg has always taken the time to treat his opposing counsel with respect.”
Wu is active in pro bono work as well as the Kansas City legal community, and recently served as president for the Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City and the local affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, which honored Greg among its "Best Lawyers Under 40." He also has been a representative to the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Leadership Council, and was a longtime member of the executive board for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Young Lawyers Section.
Wu and other honorees were recognized at the KCMBA’s Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference in May.
