Raiford Appointed as Vice Chair of Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee
The incoming Florida Bar President has appointed Shook Attorney Anitra Raiford as vice chair of its Federal Court Practice Committee effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. In this role, Raiford serves, along with others, as the Bar’s liaison to the federal courts, federal bar organizations in Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Conference and others interested in federal practice.
The Federal Court Practice Committee shares with Bar members any proposed changes to federal rules and publishes the Guide to Judicial Practices in Florida’s Federal Courts. She has been active with this committee since 2015, serving as a co-chair of the Guide to Judicial Practices subcommittee and involved with organizing the judicial roundtable held annually at the Florida Bar Convention.
“It’s an honor to be appointed to this role,” said Raiford. “Shook has a long history of Bar involvement and I’m excited to play a role in assisting Florida attorneys with changes in federal procedure.”
Raiford serves clients on matters including litigating business, commercial, intellectual property and product liability disputes. She previously clerked for two federal district judges, The Hon. Stephan P. Mickle in the Northern District of Florida and The Hon. Sheri Polster Chappell in the Middle District of Florida.
