Shook Hosts Asylum Law Workshop

Shook, Hardy & Bacon hosted an asylum law and proceedings workshop for attorneys and staff at its Kansas City office June 19, 2019. Clare Murphy Shaw, managing attorney of Asylum Clinic KC and Ramon Valdez, director of strategic initiatives and relationships at Innovation Law Lab were presenters, discussing asylum applications, interview techniques, withholding of removal and the Convention Against Torture (CAT). 

Asylum Clinic KC is currently partnering with the Innovation Law Lab's Centers of Excellence to provide pro bono representation and pro se assistance to asylum seekers in removal proceedings.
