Shook Attorneys to Speak, Firm to Be Recognized at National ACC Virtual Meeting

Four Shook attorneys will speak and Shook will be recognized for an ACC Value Champion Award at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Virtual Annual Meeting, October 12–16. Shook is serving as a Gold Sponsor for the event.

Shook Chair of the Privacy and Data Security Practice Group, Al Saikali, Partner and Director of Shook’s Biometric Privacy Task Force, Melissa Siebert, and Associate Colman McCarthy will be speaking October 14, 3:45 p.m. CDT. They will be part of the interactive presentation, “Breaking It Down and Breaking It Out: Minimizing the Legal Risks of Emerging Trends in Privacy and Cybersecurity.” Attendees will learn concrete steps their organizations can implement immediately to minimize the legal risks associated with ransomware attacks, the CCPA and biometric technology.

Shook Data and Discovery Strategies Associate Adam Shoshtari will be a presenter at “Using What You Have: Leveraging Information Governance Tools to Manage Internal Investigations and Litigations,” October 16, 10:15 a.m. CDT. This session will cover the accessible, affordable information technology and collaborative tools built into Office365 that allow automated features to identify threats, conduct broader searches and conclude internal investigations efficiently. The session will also show how law and compliance departments are successfully using these tools to meet their goals. 

The ACC will present Shook and client TC Energy with the ACC Value Champion Award. Each year, the ACC recognizes corporate law departments and external partners for excellence in collaboration with the award. Shook Partner James Thompson represents TC Energy.
