Shook Partner Amir Nassihi and Associate Joan Camagong will be serving as organizers and speaking at the American Bar Association’s (ABA) virtual CLE program, “Current Issues in Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Biotech Litigation,” February 25-26. The program will address current and developing issues in pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech product liability litigation, including the affect of COVID-19 on trials and court appearances, best practices for efficient and successful virtual trial practice and current priorities of in-house counsel.
Camagong will be speaking on “Key Decisions Affecting Drug and Device Litigation in the Last Year,” February 26, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET. She and her fellow speakers will present a review of cases that involved key decisions in areas such as personal jurisdiction and preemption.
Following Camagong’s presentation, Nassihi will be co-moderating a panel of judges in “A View from the Bench: Judicial Insights on Managing Complex Litigation and the Pandemic’s Lasting Impact,” from 12:45 – 2:00 p.m. ET. In this event, judges will discuss how the pandemic impacted their dockets and what to expect in the post-pandemic world.
The program is being presented by the ABA Section of Litigation Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Biotech Subcommittee and the Mass Tort Subcommittee of the Products Liability Committee.
