Asian Pacific American Women Lawyers Alliance Selects Shook Senior Counsel as President-Elect
Shook Senior Counsel Karyn Ihara was recently sworn in as President-Elect of the Asian Pacific American Women Lawyers Alliance (APAWLA) by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Esther Ro at the APAWLA’s Annual Membership Mixer and Board Installation in Los Angeles. Ihara, who will become President in 2026, will be an integral part of helping the Alliance in their mission of advocating for, educating, mentoring, networking and developing leadership in Asian Pacific American women within the profession and larger community. Shook Partner Darlene Cho also serves in the Alliance as an officer in the organization’s Board of Governors.
Founded in 1993, the APAWLA promotes inclusion, empowerment and advancement of Asian Pacific American women in the legal profession. Members include lawyers, judges and law students throughout California.
