Privacy Partner Recognized for Innovative Legal Practice

Missouri Lawyers Media (MLM) selected Shook Partner Colman McCarthy as an Innovative Legal Practice honoree at the 2025 Legal Innovation Summit & Awards event. The awards ceremony, held in St. Louis, included a panel focused on AI adoption and governance in law firms. McCarthy was one of four lawyers named for their innovative legal practice. 

McCarthy recently assisted in Shook being named a certified Breach Coach® by NetDiligence®, a formal recognition for “demonstrated excellence in data security and privacy services.” Firms must handle a minimum of 50 incidents per year and undergo a careful vetting process to become an authorized Breach Coach.

McCarthy is consistently recognized as a top practitioner for his work in privacy and data security. He advises clients across the country on their obligations under both domestic and international privacy and data security laws, including all 50-state data breach notification laws. McCarthy’s privacy experience extends to his pro bono work as well, including privacy and data security advice for a world-renowned art museum.
