Payton is an associate in the firm’s Class Action and Appellate Litigation Practice Group.
She earned her law degree summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she graduated first in her class. While in law school, she served as editor-in-chief of the Arkansas Law Review. Additionally, she was an associate member of the university’s Board of Advocates, competing in the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition her 2L and 3L years. At the 2025 national competition, Payton’s team advanced to the semi-finals round, becoming one of the top four teams in the nation. The team received the National Best Brief Award, and Payton was recognized as one of the top 10 advocates in the country.
Payton was a summer associate for Shook before joining the firm as an associate. As a summer associate, she conducted legal research, prepared memoranda and drafted legal documents.
