Jacob is a member of the Class Action and Appellate group. He earned his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he received the coveted Thomas F. Butt Excellence in Legal Writing Award. He was also a staff editor for the Arkansas Law Review, a research and teaching assistant for many professors, and won numerous awards for his skills in oral advocacy. During law school, Jacob was also an extern for the Honor Timothy L. Brooks of the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Arkansas.
Jacob has experience supporting a variety of complex litigation teams through all phases of litigation. A gifted writer, Jacob has crafted numerous appellate briefs, drafted dispositive motions, and prepared critical pretrial motions. Jacob has experience in individual, class action, and multidistrict litigation, encompassing skills from initial case assessment through appellate practice. He has taken numerous depositions in these roles and has assisted in the management of large discovery efforts for multiple case teams.
Particularly, Jacob is passionate about the thrill of appellate law. The passions of zealously representing a client while remaining responsive to questions during appellate oral arguments truly began during Jacob’s tenure as a speech and debate students, where he won multiple national championships. He then continued polishing these skills in law school, competing twice in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition. To date, Jacob has written multiple appellate briefs for clients and has already argued an appeal before the Missouri Court of Appeals. He has assisted partners in the development of talking points and argument preparation for high-stakes appellate arguments in other appellate courts across the country.
