Taylor largely focuses his practice on appellate matters, including state and federal appeals as well as extraordinary writs, and insurance matters, including coverage disputes and bad faith claims.

Having previously worked for five different judges across three different courts, Taylor applies his experience in the judicial context to formulate winning strategies and arguments for his clients.  Taylor’s appellate practice includes victories in the United States Courts of Appeal for the Eighth Circuit, Tenth Circuit and Veterans Claims, as well as in the Missouri Supreme Court and Missouri Court of Appeals. For his insurance cases, Taylor has sustained a successful motion practice, including obtaining dismissals of multiple class actions, summary judgment on bad faith claims, and numerous other wins relating to discovery, venue, jurisdiction and other matters. In addition to these main areas of focus, Taylor routinely takes the lead on major motions in a variety of cases. As a result, he has secured summary judgments in personal injury actions, dismissals in fraud and contract actions and favorable personal jurisdiction rulings.

Before joining Shook, Taylor completed judicial clerkships for the Honorable Zel M. Fischer and the Honorable W. Brent Powell of the Supreme Court of Missouri. During law school, Taylor served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Mark D. Pfeiffer and the Honorable Cynthia L. Martin of the Missouri Court of Appeals, and for the Honorable Lee Yeakel of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
