Moneer is an associate in Shook’s Class Action and Appellate Practice Group, where he defends clients in commercial and product liability disputes. He appears routinely in state and federal court and has experience across all phases of litigation, including drafting and arguing dispositive motions that have resulted in complete dismissals with prejudice. Moneer also maintains an active pro bono practice with a focus on asylum representation and impact litigation on behalf of Special Immigrant Juvenile Status applicants.
Before joining Shook, Moneer served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Benjamin T. Reyes II of the Superior Court of Contra Costa County, California, where he drafted bench memoranda and gained firsthand insight into judicial decision-making at the trial court level.
Moneer earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he graduated as a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society. He served as Comments Editor for the University of San Francisco Law Review and as a Teaching Assistant to Professor Bruce Price in Contracts. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Moneer is fluent in Farsi.
