Shook, Hardy & Bacon has represented clients before various agencies of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and provided counseling on facility inspection readiness, meat and poultry labeling, and Spanish dialect labeling, among other matters. Our work on behalf of food and beverage manufacturers centers around meeting the combined challenges and regulatory requirements of FDA, USDA and FTC—as well as state and local laws—while minimizing the risk of litigation related to product labeling and claims.

We have extensive experience with pathogen testing, mitigation and corrective action, product withdrawals and recalls, and statements to the media. Our work also includes preparing comment to agencies and advising clients on food/obesity issues and food marketing to children.
