Johnson Discusses FDA Regulations with Corporate Disputes

Corporate Disputes interviewed Shook Of Counsel John Johnson on developments in the food and beverage sector and regulations implemented by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Johnson answered questions related to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the food and beverage industry, the rules regulating labeling, quality control processes and future predictions.

"The FDA's primary focus will remain on food safety issues, such as pathogens, allergens and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)," Johnson predicted. "To the extent food or beverage products make COVID-19 related claims, the FDA will move swiftly to warn the company to remove the claims. If the company does not, the FDA may consider more aggressive actions like seeking an injunction against the company."
