McDonough and Adams Named “Best of the Bar”

The Kansas City Business Journal has chosen Shook Chair Madeleine McDonough and Partner Rob Adams for the 2019 class of “Best of the Bar.” An independent panel of judges selected only 53 Best of the Bar honorees deemed as practitioners who “provide the highest-quality legal advice.”

McDonough leads Shook as chair and serves clients in the pharmaceutical industry. A former clinical pharmacist, she represents multinational companies in a range of industries: pharmaceutical, animal health, medical device, food, cosmetics and beverage. In 2019, under her leadership, Shook added Atlanta, Boston and Los Angeles offices as well as attracted key laterals to serve the firm’s health, science and technology clients. She has earned numerous awards for her legal acumen, leadership and commitment to diversity initiatives at Shook.

Adams is recognized as one of the country’s premier trial lawyers. He has first-chaired more than 30 jury trials in the areas of product liability, intellectual property litigation, insurance coverage litigation and commercial litigation. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is ranked annually in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. The KCBJ has selected Adams for this honor since 2003. 

McDonough, Adams and the other honorees will be recognized at a congratulatory reception October 24, 2019.
