New Class Action Co-Chairs Provide Guidance on AI Trends for The Recorder
Class Action and Appellate Co-Chairs Michael Mallow and Amir Nassihi spoke to The Recorder to explain class action trends they are seeing in 2021. Mallow and Nassihi were interviewed for “How Shook, Hardy & Bacon is Mining Emerging Litigation Class Action Trends.” They join longtime Partner Tristan Duncan in their new roles to help lead the practice. The California litigators say while artificial intelligence is affecting the automotive sectors now, other industries such as pharma, medical technology and energy are the next wave.
“California tends to be almost an incubator for class action trends that we see proliferate throughout the rest of the country,” Mallow explained. “So having some of the centralized control coordination and leadership in California makes sense, because not only does it put us at ground zero for when these trends first start, but it certainly allows us to help leverage the rest of the class action team to get ready for a proliferation of these issues outside of California.”
All three are highly sought-after winning trial and appellate lawyers with decades of experience defending commercial litigation and consumer class actions in the firm’s roster of automotive, consumer products, cosmetics, energy, and food and beverage clients.
