Shook Attorney Obtains CIPP/C Accreditation

Shook Associate Kate Paine has obtained Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) accreditation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The CIPP/C is the leading credential for data protection professionals in Canada, reinforcing knowledge of and experience with a comprehensive approach to the protection of personal data and data flows. 

Paine who focuses her practice on defending and counseling multinational companies in matters of privacy, data security and international product liability, previously earned her Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) accreditation. She is a core member of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security Practice, and has counseled a variety of technology companies, product manufacturers and service providers on their rights and obligations under a multitude of federal and state privacy laws.  

An experienced legal writer, Paine is also a member of Shook’s Legal Issues Group drafting team and regularly contributes to the firm’s Privacy and Data Security Client Alert. She regularly travels internationally to meet with her clients, who appreciate Paine’s attention to detail, creative problem-solving and commitment to excellence.
